The Montessori Community as a Prepared Environment for Adults
Details
Presenter: Anna Perry
Target Audience: General Interest
CPD hours: 1.5
Overview
In Montessori education, we have a solid understanding of how to create an aesthetically beautiful, emotionally balanced prepared environment in which to welcome the children. However, sometimes a key aspect of this concept of the “prepared environment” doesn’t receive the attention that it deserves: school as a prepared environment for the adults in our communities. In this webinar, we will explore the top 10 ways we, as a community, can apply Montessori practices to the teachers and adult learners in our schools and teacher education programs. We will discuss ways to cultivate experiences in normalization, respectful interaction, and true experiences of community and collaboration that are necessary for the full concept of Montessori to take place in our learning environments.
