Presented by: John Branch, Andrew McNally
For: Elementary and Secondary educators
CPD hours: 1.5
Available:
 On Demand

This webinar explores the nature of teaching in a time of fake news, alternative facts, and rejection of traditional logical arguments. How have changing societal views of truth, fact, and knowledge affected our teaching practices? In this webinar, the presenters will share proven strategies for taking divisive phenomena and turning them into learning opportunities that benefit the whole community. Through both big-picture and detailed-view lenses, they will identify the issues and explore their origins and nature. Discussions will center around how to increase civil discourse using structure dialogues, separate argument from identity, avoid pure subjectivity, and respond with grace and courtesy.
