Explore inclusion in Montessori environments through a historical look at the influences on and development of Maria Montessori’s pedagogy and a comparison of the planes of development and sensitive periods for typical children and those with exceptionalities. This workshop will clarify special-education vocabulary, evaluation processes, current laws and policies, and sound strategies for collaboration between Montessori teachers and special-education professionals. This webinar was originally presented as an AMS conference workshop.

About the Presenter
Joyce S. Pickering, HumD, is immediate past president of the AMS Board of Directors and the AMS 2013 Living Legacy. She is the executive director emerita of Shelton School & Evaluation Center, in Dallas, TX. AMS-credentialed (Early Childhood).
